New Clause 65 - Independent review of registration and participation by overseas electors in UK Parliamentary elections “(1) The Secretary of State must commission an independent review into how to increase the registration and participation by overseas electors in UK Parliamentary elections. (2) The matters which the review must consider shall include, but shall not be limited to— (a) the experience of overseas voters at 2024 general election;
(b) the impact of the Elections Act 2022 on overseas voters;
(c) the number of voters participating from overseas in recent elections in the United Kingdom. (3) The independent review must report within six months of the passing of this Act and be laid before Parliament.”—(Katie Lam.)
