Amendment proposed: 188, page 17, delete from line 21 to line 17 on page 21 and insert— “23A Requirement for inspection (1) The CIECSS may order an inspection of a parent undertaking, or any of its subsidiaries, if it has– (a) a subsidiary undertaking which meets the requirements of subsection (2), or (b) two or more subsidiary undertakings which meet the requirements of subsection (3). (2) A subsidiary undertaking meets the requirements of this subsection if– (a) the subsidiary undertaking is registered under this Part as carrying on two or more establishments or agencies for which the CIECSS is the registration authority, and (b) the CIECSS reasonably suspects that there are grounds for cancelling the subsidiary undertaking’s registration in respect of two or more of those establishments or agencies. (3) A subsidiary undertaking meets the requirements of this subsection if– (a) the subsidiary undertaking is registered under this Part as carrying on one or more establishments or agencies for which the CIECSS is the registration authority, and (b) the CIECSS reasonably suspects that there are grounds for cancelling the subsidiary undertaking’s registration in respect of one or more of those establishments or agencies.”—(Laura Trott.)
